Disney LBD's by Silverwingfox Disney LBD's by Silverwingfox
REMAKE: [link]

I love my Motorhead: [link]

although the disney girls have nothing to do with the song other than they're wearing black

ever notice that they get the swishy dresses as well as their civilian clothes, but they dont get the one staple every one knows about: the little black dress

so I drew my favorite girls in their own LBD's
left to right:
Pocahontas- honestly i didnt know what to give her, she already has a form fitting outfit, so i figured id give her the one thing she never gets, swishy dress and a bow/sash

Tiana-i wanted her to have a form fitting dress, although the original sketch was devoid of silver swirls

Belle- i wanted hers to echo her yellow dress, but i couldnt do a poofy bottom cause then it wouldnt really be an LBD then, so i stuck with form fitting

Giselle- oh god she was hard. cause i really wanted her to have a dress that looks mature but kinda naive at the same time, so then i figured hey "empire waist"

Jane- i wanted her dress to have the tiers her yellow dress had. btw the tiers dont go all the way around, they're only in the back, i based it off a similar dress i saw in a fashion magazine once

Jasmine-lol figures i give the most scantily clad girl a dress that covers almost everything, that and i noticed a shortage of sleeves in this pic

Megara- i wanted hers to look somewhat like her own purple toga...thing, though now she kinda looks like shes modeling for the mob O_o

Esmerelda- creativity crapped out on me at this point, the only thing i could think of for her were poofy sleeves and bare midriff, but then the midriff would not count as an LBD so i just left the sleeves

personally i love tia's, pocahontas' and giselle's dresses the most

btw texture bg is from :[link]

those who want to see ariel: [link]

PS: for those who begged for Ariel, Tink, Aurora, Mulan, etc.. [link]

Nicely done!!! I thought the red head (Giselle), was Ariel at first. But I quickly realized it couldn't be. Ariel has a darker shade of red hair. Giselle, What Disney movie / story is She from? I seen pictures of Her, but never seen Her actual movie.

Pocahontas, Tiana, and Belle are KILLING it. I mean they are all great dresses, but those three blow me away. I especially like Tiana's ultra high side slit and the little silver swirls which add a wonderful detail.

As far as Esmeralda's dress which still comes off very sexy...more due to Esmeralda than anything else, perhaps a window over the midriff would satisfy her Roma style, while maintaining the LBD status.

They all look so cute (or sexy, as the case would more appropriately be). Although I don't think the hip slit works on Tia's dress. I think the fabric should close over her legs and show off those silver motifs. As it is now, it looks just a bit sloppy rather than sexy. But then, I'm inclined to believe that those hipline slits only work on evening gowns.

And I wish we could see the front of Jane's dress.

Meg looks a bit like Xena in her dress. :XD:

Pocahontas is my favorite out of these, and I love the "sleeves" you gave Belle.

Thanks,
About Tia's hip slit, I just like drawing curves on women, and I draw the slit because it shows it off

oh I thought that Giselle was Ariel. haha
because of her red hair... but after reading I notice that her hair isn't that red
as I know from Ariel...

I love the idea of the Disney heroines wearing modern little black dresses. That's such an original, creative concept to capture in a piece of Disney fanart. You didn't draw yet another Disney princess mermaid picture or portray another one of those cliches. So, good for you! =D ;) I love the distinct style of each of the girls' dresses and how you tried to make some of them similar to their original clothes.

My favorites are Poca, Tiana, Belle, and, of course, Jasmine. (I bet you couldn't tell from my icon, but she's my favorite Disney princess. =P ;)) All of the styles of their dresses are lovely and interesting. I'm also appreciative that you took a more modest approach with Jasmine's dress. Although I don't mind Jasmine's provocative outfits, it's always nice to see her wearing attire that actually covers her body, be it in the animated series of Aladdin or through a portrayal of her character in fanart. =D

Also, I love your drawing style in general. I like the way you draw eyes. =)

You're welcome! =D And of course I did. =)

Somehow that doesn't surprise me. I'm neutral towards Aurora (I didn't watch Sleeping Beauty all that much during my childhood because my mom was horrified of Maleficent when she was little. As a result, she didn't want to expose her children (meaning my younger brother and myself) to the film because didn't want us to become frightened, too), Belle is a close second tied with Tiana as far as my favorite Disney princesses go, and I'm not fond of Ariel. I consider her to be an annoying character. But she has a really large fanbase, which I know you noticed (I read your artist's comments on this piece).

ariel is like the airhead princess, i mean she goes into the decaying body of an animal, swims past weird leech things that cry out in agony, and hears ursula call them pathetic, AND STILL thinks she can be trusted

i mean i love her design, its unique and the first when it came out, but character wise i wouldnt give her any awards

Good point. I didn't think of it that way before. I thought of the other scenario that I mentioned, but you're right. I can't believe that she trusted Ursula when all of the signs were pointing the other way.

I do, too. Her unique design is awesome and I love her red hair, but I wouldn't give her character any awards either. I think Jasmine is a much more likable character, but that's just me. Jas is flawed and all, and she's rather ignorant when it comes to street life, but she learned quickly and probably wouldn't steal from another vendor if she had gone into the marketplace a second time during the film.
