this movie is a major guilty pleasure for me
it is just way to ridiculously cheesy and the characters are way too contrived
however, like ariel, i love odette's character design. unfortunately like ariel, i hate her development
its a shame cause it had so much promise when she said "but what else?"
....and then she's suddenly head over heels for a guy she hated for the some 21 or so odd years of her life
is consistency too hard to keep up? i mean obviously they were going for the Disney formula but everyone seems to overlook that it includes character development, or do they just fall asleep during the part of the movie where Belle is getting to know the Beast?
EDIT: resubmitted cause her face was seriously bugging me, i like it alot better now
With Belle we were shown that she read and was intelligent. She wanted something more out of her life. You say she's cliche, but I think mainly thats because most characters made after her have taken on her characteristics that its become stale. I mean Belle was so well rounded, she didn't put up with the Beast's crap, she sure as hell let him know it. She ran away from the castle and fought back against a pack of wolves when she was terrified out of her mind. She was always shown in taking the initiative, even when she was captured, the first thing we see is her fiddling with the door trying to get it open. But Odette, we have nothing. Were given a line as a first step but they never really did anything with it. I'd like to continue rambling, but I'd rather not, so I'll just end it here.
